Find your Mac's spec in under a minute
To price your Mac accurately we need a handful of details. They all live in one window, so here is exactly how to open it and what to read off.

The steps
Which macOS are you running?
Opening the window differs slightly by version. Not sure which you have? Your macOS version shows on the same screen, so start with Ventura and check.
On macOS Ventura (13) or newer
Open the Apple menu
Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.
Choose System Settings
Pick "System Settings" from the menu that drops down.
Open General, then About
In the sidebar click "General", then click "About".
Read your details
Everything we need is listed on this one screen.
On macOS Monterey (12) or older
Open the Apple menu
Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.
Click About This Mac
Your Mac's details appear straight away in a small window.
What to note down
The details we need from that screen
You will find all of these in the same window. Jot down whatever applies to your Mac, and pop it into the quote form.
Model
iMac, MacBook Pro, Mac mini and so on.
Release year
The year your Mac was made.
Processor or chip
Such as Apple M2, or an Intel Core i7.
Graphics
The graphics card listed, if shown.
Memory (RAM)
For example 8 GB or 16 GB.
Storage size
Your drive size, like 256 GB or 1 TB.
Display size & resolution
Screen size and its resolution.
macOS version
The version of macOS you are on.
Using an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3 or newer)?
For exact core counts, click System Report on the About screen. It shows extra detail you can add to your quote:
- Under Hardware, the "Total Number of Cores" is your CPU cores.
- Under Graphics/Displays, the "Total Number of Cores" is your GPU cores.
Mac won't turn on, or can't see the screen?
No problem, you can still get a quote. On the quote page, fill in whatever you already know about the device and pick the "Don't know" option for anything you are unsure of.
For example, if you have a 13-inch MacBook Pro and are not sure whether it is a 2018 or 2019, just select "Don't know" for the year and carry on.
If we manage to get the device working and read the real specs, we will revise your quote and let you know.
