Frequently Asked Questions

Are returns free with Mac Recycle?
Yes, returns are completely free. If we can't agree a price with you after inspecting your device, we'll ship it back to you at no cost.
What if my device doesn't match the description I gave?
If the device we receive doesn't match your original description, we'll email you with a revised quote and explain why, whether that means the price goes up or down.
What is a counter offer?
A counter offer is our adjusted price based on the actual condition of your device, using the same grading rules as your original quote. It's how we keep pricing fair and accurate for everyone.
Do I have to accept the counter offer?
No. If you're happy with the revised quote we'll process payment as normal, but if you'd rather not accept it, you're free to decline and we'll return your device to you free of charge.
How does grading work?
We grade devices A, B, C or Faulty based on cosmetic condition, functionality and battery health, from Grade A (almost new, under 300 battery cycles) down to Faulty (heavier wear or not fully working).
Does the battery affect my quote?
Yes. For Grade A to C devices, the battery should hold under 500 cycles with at least 80% capacity. If the battery is missing or faulty, its replacement cost is deducted from the quote.
Are accessories like chargers and keyboards covered?
We'll pay extra for accessories such as keyboards, mice, trackpads, chargers and cables when they're in good working order and good cosmetic condition. Damaged or non-functional accessories won't be paid for.
Do you accept non-working or damaged devices?
Yes, especially for bulk sales. We accept non-working, liquid-damaged or smashed devices too, these are simply priced as parts rather than by the usual A to C grading.
